We are thrilled to be at the launch event of the Chips Joint Undertaking, a groundbreaking initiative in the field of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies. In a pivotal moment for innovation, prof. dr. sc. Mario Kovač - director of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center proudly participated in the launch event of the Chips Joint Undertaking. The event, held on 30th November - 1st December 2023 at Brussels, Belgium, brought together key stakeholders to shape the future of chip technology.  The Chips Joint Undertaking is a collaborative effort aimed at bolstering Europe's position as a global leader in the semiconductor industry. It has been formed in response to the increasing demand for advanced chip technologies and the recognition of their strategic importance across various sectors. Mario Kovač, Director of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Centre and Chief Communications Officer of the European Processor Initiative, will deliver a course as part of HPC, Data & Architecture Week. The summer school will take place from 13 to 17 March in Buenos Aires, Argentina.    

Eric Monchalin, Chairman of the EPI Board, will give a lecture titled "European Sovereignty for Cloud continuum and HPC" at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing on October 11th at 10 am. 

Mario Kovač, Director of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center and Chief Communications Officer of the European Processor Initiative, held a presentation at the University of Buenos Aires on March 21, 2022. 

The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched  3 new research and innovation projects . The projects aim to bring the EU and its partners closer to developing independent microprocessor and HPC technology. The European Processor Initiative ( EPI SGA2 ),  The European PILOT  and the European Pilot for Exascale ( EUPEX ) are interlinked projects and an important milestone towards a more autonomous European supply chain for digital technologies.

Mario Kovač, Director of the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center and Chief Communications Officer of the European Processor Initiative, held a presentation at Croatian National Information Day Horizon Europe Cluster 4 - Digital, Industry and Space 2021, held online on November 25, 2021.

EPAC1.0 RISC-V Test Chip samples were delivered to EPI and initial tests of their operation were successful. One of the partners that are working on this project is the HPC Architecture and Application Research Center (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing).
